This museum is conceived around a wonderful patio with wooden columns, and gives precious information about traditions and the lifestyle of pre-Inca cultures, through the ages (from 12.000 B.C. until the Spanish arrival) of the Chimu, the Salinar or the Viru culture. Objects from the different periods are exhibited with models of the surrounding sites, copies of bas-reliefs and ritual masks (in particular those used for the human sacrifices).
